Falcon Families,
It is my pleasure and honor to introduce myself as principal of Northwest High School. I am proud and excited to serve our staff, students, and their families.
This is the start of my 22nd year in education. My career began as a physical education and health teacher in the Omaha Public School District. I taught 9, 10, 11, and 12th graders at Omaha Northwest High School. I served as the head girl’s track coach and as a varsity football assistant.
I joined the Goshen County School District #1 as an assistant principal and principal leading students and staff toward a more prosperous learning environment. During this time, I had the pleasure of working with staff, students, and families, but I quickly fell in love with the community. The energy and excitement we generated as a school allowed many students to experience success at a high level. There is nothing like a small-town feel — similar to what we have in Northwest Lincoln!
As Northwest principal, I am dedicated to building a school community that will strive for excellence and students’ success and will strive to build positive relationships, rigorous learning, and a great environment that encourages our students to celebrate their unique strengths.
Like you, I am a parent as well. My wife Donella and I have been married for eighteen years and have two sons. Jakobe, our oldest, graduated from Lincoln North Star, will be starting his second year of college this fall at Southeast Community College. Ashton, our youngest, will be attending Robinson Elementary School as a third grader. We have lived in Lincoln for the past four years and look forward to opening the doors to Northwest in August. My family is unique to my life, and being part of the Northwest family makes life much more prosperous.
I view education as a lifelong process and will continue learning about our school community. I believe students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to bring my experience, openness, learning, and student-centered approach to support our students. Relationships between families and schools are vital to the success of our students. I encourage you to become involved.
I look forward to the collaboration and support we can give each other.
I will make every effort to help your student reach their full potential. I vow to give my all to our students and request the same action from our staff and school community. Together we will have an opportunity to build rich traditions, inspire our students, and create Northwest as a rich learning environment guided with love, respect, and support toward a bright future.
Go Falcons!
